I own this strictly for a monitor. I sit about 3 feet away. It's awesome, can't see a pixel. Great for games, no issues at 60hz 4k with HDMI 2.0. There is a trick if your video card doesnt have HDMI 2.0. Use DVI to HDMI adapter to get 4k 60hz, otherwise you will get only 30hz. Another slight issue is 4:4:4 chroma. That does not work on this TV at 60hz, you will need to set refresh at 30hz. But I work from home and have only slight annoyances at 60hz with out 4:4:4.

Love it for gaming, always wanted monitor large enough were it makes me so immersed in a game.

To all replys to this, yes, I understand its not a perfect monitor or 144hz refresh for your dumb CS:GO game. But I've never had any friends not be amazed while playing a game at 4k on a 49" screen.

Sorry for errors, typed on my dinovo mini on my HTPC and I really don't care to proof read this.Hope that helps!

*edit: 4:4:4 chroma works at 30hz if that wasnt clear, so you can easily switch back and forth from text work to gaming.

I've had a Sceptre for 6+ years w/o a problem. If needed, I would buy this in a second.

My o my TV prices have fallen and continue to do so...

Looks like people are saying that it can only do 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:2:2 chroma. You'd probably want a TV that supports 4:4:4 chroma for clearer text.

Exactly how far do you plan to sit away from this? You won't be able to sit to close as your eyes would be constantly moving back and forth around the screen to take it all in.

Eye strain and then headache.

to far away and you'll be straining to read the print, or have to re-size the text so much that you then can't fit it all on the screen and be horizontal scrolling.

yes you could use it as a monitor... would you want to? Not really in my opinion.

I guess 40" 4k still the perfect spot for now. 27" 4k is too small and 50" 4k is too big.

Paid advertisement garbage increases by several folds on weekends. You would think these guys will take a break and maybe watch this wonderful basketball tournament, not gonna happen I guess.

I bought this same tv back when it was 350 and for price it's a decent tv. I ended up returning it for lg that went on sale for 515. Only problem I noticed was when playing games it has a motion blur issue even when it's 120 setting is turned off. Blur kinda comes and goes, also will need sound bar or home theatre.

Bought 55inch for 400 with tax and 4 year extended warranty it works like a charm. Playing starcraft with my 970gtx in 4k, watching youtube videos in 4k, it's great.

The speakers suck, sounds like an echo, but they are not that bad. I sit about 4 ft away and it is 4k @ 60 hz ALL sceptre TVs are 4:2:2 chroma.
