I'm sure citi fought hard in the bidding process to beat Amex to get the Costco account. Part of the terms were probably to offer better benefits for the customer....

I've read some more news about trouble of Costco Citi Visa and thinking about open membership from Sam's Club at FP Hot Deals and apply for their Visa. Any suggestions?

Well, just because the Citi card may suck doesn't mean you have to add more 'suck' in your life in the form of a Sam's membership. That's just my opinion. I would pick Costco over Sam's and maybe get that Chase card that gives 5% at warehouses through the end of the year. Both cards are worth one credit pull, right?

i've had zero trouble with costco or the citi card, and i certainly wouldn't change cards or stores purely based on some random people griping online.
