Bosch dishwashers are #1 rated everywhere. My research showed Ascenta to be the cheapest dishwasher that doesn't tend to smear bits of leftover food from one dish onto others (how it does this with under 3 gallons of water per load, is a mystery). $365 for a Bosch is dirt cheap (punny), as is $437 in stainless steel finish.

Model is the Bosch Ascenta 50-Decibel Dishwasher, model numbers for the three finishes are:

SHE3AR72UC -White (Lowes link []) (Best Buy link [])
SHE3AR76UC - Black (Lowes link []) (Best Buy link [])
SHE3AR75UC - Stainless (Lowes link []) (Best Buy link [])
Lowes 10% rebate [] (good thru April 5)

Use Lowes price guarantee -- price match plus 10% -- to Best Buy. Add Lowes 10% rebate on Bosch appliances (valid thru April 5) for the final price. Here's how:

For the white or black finish, Lowes price is $499, Best Buy has it for $450. For stainless steel exterior, Lowes is $599, BB is $540. Call Lowes customer service and ask for Lowes price guarantee on the BB price. They should match the price, plus an extra 10% off. That will make your out-the-door price $405 for W/B, $486 for SS. After Lowes 10% rebate, the final price is $365 for W/B, $437 for SS.

Note: Lowes may try to misinterpret their own price guarantee. If they try to deny the PM because the item is a "special order" for Lowes, point out politely that that written exclusions apply to the competitor's stock, not Lowes (check Best Buy's stock first, find a store that has it in stock, if they ask. If the Lowes CSR still says 'no', _politely_ ask to speak to the local store manager.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Last day for the rebate! Make sure the manager you speak to knows that several of your "friends" have received the correctly interpreted 10% plus PM (any English speaker can tell the special order wording applies to the competitor's stock only)

Some are being offered the PM but not the extra 10% because the dishwasher is "special order" at Lowes. What? That is made-up BS, existing nowhere in Lowes low price guarantee. The guarantee always gives an extra 10% with a PM, and there is no provision to do PM only. The guarantee allows all Lowes products -- new, used, in stock. special order -- to be PM'ed. Exclusions apply to competitors' stock only.

No use arguing with the CSRs. Clearly they're just carrying out the non-existent policy and you arguing about it will get you nowhere.

Instead, ask to speak to the local store manager. If that manager knows high school English grammar and is honest, you should be set.

The Lowes price guarantee [emphasis mine]:
"We guarantee our everyday competitive prices. If you find a lower everyday price on an identical item at a local retail competitor, just bring us the competitor's current ad, and we'll beat their price by 10%. If a competitor is offering a percent off discount, we'll match the final net price the competitor is offering. Our price guarantee does not apply to installation labor, to the competitor's closeout, special order, discontinued, clearance, liquidation or to damaged items. Limited to reasonable quantities. Please reach out to Lowe's Product & Sales Customer Care at 1-877-465-6937 or visit your local store." []

My receipt shows out-the-door price of $539.99 (BB price)-$54(10% "beat their price")=$485.99 (plus tax). Rebate should be $48.60 for a final price of $437.39.

I just bought the Bosch 300 series at lowes this week. It was on sale for $719, and I got the 10% rebate and I also grabbed a 10% coupon from ebay, so my total on the 300 is about $575. The ascenta is nice, and I almost went that route, but I really wanted the quieter model and the full stainless interior. So far, it works great. I replaced a 10 year old GE profile that was having all sorts of issues. even though the Bosch I got was rated at 46db,it is louder than my GE that was rated 47db.

Still, very happy for the price.. and for under $400, the ascenta is a steal.

I will say that I was very happy with how easy it is to install the bosch. It already had a new water hose attached, and I like that it attaches in the back, not underneath. I also like how the power was a little junction box that plugs into the back of the unit and then the romex wiring just goes into the romex box.. you will need a 1/2" strain relief though. If you have an outlet, you'll need to buy a power cord for it (doesn't come with a power cord with plug on the end, just a cord with a junction box on the end). It was a snap to install!

Also for the OP - if you go to and buy Lowe's gift cards ahead of time, you can get them for 10.5% off, so if you buy $100 worth of gift cards for about $90, you can lop another 10% off the price.

Amazon reviews said the dishwasher is smaller than the other dishwashers at the same size? Also is the rack design awkward?

Noob homeowner question: Is stainless steel still in or are people starting to switch back to black? I had someone tell me recently that nobody is buying stainless steel and everyone is going to black.

I cant speak for what is the trend but I have gotten rid of all my stainless appliances and gone back to black. I think it looks so much better personally...

steel show 599 for me, minus 10% = 539.1 Even if they let me combine my military discount it's still 485.2...don't know if that's a good price or not but I've heard great things about Bosch washers.

I have this dishwasher. If you can snag one for $365 that's a steal.

Just got off the phone - they would only match the $539 - wouldn't do the extra 10% as she insisted they only do that on in-stock items. Bummer. Nice deal if you have better luck than me!
