Werner Model # MT1-22 Product Weight (lb.) 38.3 lb

Little Giant Alta-One Model 22 37 lbs.

Almost the same weight. For reference, Little Giant Alta-One Model 17 is 29 lbs.

Keep in mind that this is a cheapened model made specifically for Home Depot. MT1-22 is rated as Type I 250 lbs and is not the same as MT-22 which is Type IA 300 lbs rated. The real MT-22 goes on sale at Lowes often for not much more money and is a better, more sturdy ladder. In fact Werner doesn't even acknowledge the MT1-22 on their website.

Great ladder at a great price. This ladder is perfect for the typical suburban home with little storage. I hang mine vertically on the wall in my garage and it takes up very little space. But then opens up big enough to do almost anything I would need on my 2-story house. The only downside is that it is very heavy and a little cumbersome to use as an extension ladder. There is a trick to setting it up to the full 22' length. I actually watched the videos from Little Giant and they helped a bunch.

Can you explain why you feel that way. Looked very similar to me in specs. (Little Giant Alta One-22ft currently $219, does this really go on sale for $119?)

It is definitely a little tricky to extend and retract to full length.

Do you have a link to the video that shows the easy way to do it?

but also keep in mind the little giant is heavy. this is much lighter and yes the lil giant is more durable but for a regular homeowner this is preferred due to lighter and easier to handle.

I bought this ladder during Black Friday sale and have used it quite a bit. Good ladder, sturdy. Good deal at $100
