just hope you don't have a thick lawn. these electric motors bog down big time when trying to cut like a gas mower. how do I know? I own one! plus with gas you can get a better deal!

So not only is Gas less money.... but also much better! oh well.... count it as a lesson learned. better luck next time!

So, to get the lawn mower, you need to get the battery and the charger which will cost you around $500.

Note: If you have the kobolt 80v line from Lowes, the parts are NOT interchangeable even though they're pretty much identical products.

Chainsaw + Charger + 2AH Battery = $267 from this deal
Chainsaw + Charger + 2AH Battery @ Lowes (Kobalt) = $299

Though, you can pretty much always find 10% off Lowes (plus discounted gift cards and cash back sites) and that is their normal price.

Bought a battery as a spare. Been watching this for a long time. I used it for my snow blower.

Anyone have idea how powerful is the blower? I have a 40v black and decker and it's not powerful enough for leaves on the grass.

Actually, the Greenworks mowers are designed to spool up and double their power output when they hit thick/wet/heavy patches of grass. Read the reviews, people really like this 80v gear. Ditto for the eGo 56v mower; these contemporary high-power electric mowers are a far cry from the old electric mowers.

It looks like you could cut that to ~$450, by going w/ 2 2AH batteries, but obviously the 4AH battery is what many people would want, so they don't to swap halfway through.

Blower is much better than the 40v Craftsman one that I had. The output is adjustable, and on high it is really powerful. (So much so that I sold my backpack blower after getting one...). That said, on high it's also a big battery hog - which if fine for driveway/sidewalk/deck/roof blowing, but if you're looking to clear a lawn of any size, be judicious with the power and plan to swap/charge an extra battery while you're at it.

Do you own the 80v Greenworks mower, or a different model? Experience with a different model is not necessarily indicative.

I have two greenworks 40v mowers (20in twin turbo and 16in) both do a fine job on my thick coarse st augustine lawn. Love being done with gas. Gas is better for huge areas over 1/3 acre because of the need for charging.
