Emails in Yahoo App Dated 12/31/1969

4,457 383 April 11, 2016 at 09:02 AM
I keep getting emails from the same sender that is dated 12/31/1969 in my Yahoo Email app.
It's not spam or anything.
The emails show up fine with the correct date and time on my desktop and show up fine when I added the account to Gmail, it's just the Yahoo app for some reason.
Any reason as to why this could be happening and a possible fix for it?

12/31/1969 is the epoch for time in software. Time values are stored as seconds or milliseconds from this date. When you see it in an application it usually means that something is not set at all, or something is reading from the wrong location and the app is reading a zero as the time.

or tl;dr they have a bug Smilie

I suppose you could contact Yahoo about it, but I feel like they've probably got enough problems at the moment that it's not gonna be real high on their list of priorities.

This is an issue in Yahoo Mail and it has been there for a while. Don't expect them to ever fix it.

Oddly enough, it still sorts it correctly in most cases which means it does have the correct time saved in there it just displays garbage.
