Ebay main attraction Deal of the Day : "Pick of the Day"

I went ahead and bought one but I found something to be very strange.

I tried to look for reviews of this particular model but I couldn't find anything exact.

With the A10-8700P processor, the most comparable was the HP 455 G3 but for some reason, on the Ebay product page, there are a lot of specs that have been left out.

I went ahead and contacted the seller to see what they say.

Does anyone know if this is a good deal? I just didn't understand how this has double the RAM and HDD of the G3 but is still about $150 cheaper.

I wouldn't worry. AntOnline is a large and reputable seller. They commonly sell laptops and desktops on eBay at heavily discounted prices and they're even selling this very model on their own website for $500. I've also bought Lenovos from them several times in the past and they've all been brand new, factory sealed units.

Thanks, your comment puts my purchase a little more at ease. I was in need of a new laptop to do film editing since my current laptop is getting old and cant handle too much with its 4GB RAM. I just needed something with good RAM and Good HDD for a low price. I just couldn't believe that this had 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD and was still Quad Core for that price.. I've been looking for awhile and haven't seen anything really comparable to this in price that offers the same features.

Due to the omitting of specs I got a little worried but hopefully they are reliable as you say.

IF..IF this laptop is in fact the PRobook 455 G3, it says the resolution is 39,6 cm (15.6") diagonal HD anti-glare flat LED-backlit (1366 x 768).

Link to specs [hp.com]

The AMD A-Series A10-8700P is comparable to only the Intel i3 6100U ??
After doing some research on the A10-8700P I learned that it has capabilities of overclocking up to 3.2 GHz. I believe this model is the ENERYSTAR model which keeps it at 1.8 GHz.

Nearly all the Carrizo chips are throttled to 15W and perform poorly. AMD processors are simply too inefficient to work decently in that envelope.

They work well if allowed to run at 35W and have dual channel 2133 ram, but this isn't something the user can choose, it's set at the factory. I only know of one that is configured that way, the Lenovo Y700.

Quad Core for that price.
Quad core means nothing, unfortunately. Intel makes really slow quads and so does AMD.

This is not true at all. Please don't mislead people with misinformation. Carriizo chips do NOT perform poorly (do you people even do a tad bit of research before you say such ignorant things?). The A10-8700P will outperform the latest i3 and tangle with the i5-6200U and even perform better in some areas. And overall for the vast majority of users, the "average jo" will be overkill if anything.
