Just happened to be at Walmart and saw a sweet deal on the Weber Q3200 gas grill. looks like they're going on clearance. it is out of stock online so you have to check in store. original price was $399 then they lowered it to $299 and finally it's down to $199.

I literally just put my 6 year old Q3200 out on the curb today after replacing it with a Weber Genesis. It lasted 6 years and it's a very good value at this price point. I paid $330 in April 2010.

My observations:
The 2 burner system is an outer ring and an inner ring which makes it very difficult to do indirect cooking. I worked around this but moving the warming rack to the middle and shutting the inner burners off but it's very inconvenient. You can't use a rotisserie with this grill. The drip pan location is not well designed. It takes the small aluminum disposable pans but it's impossible to remove without spilling it on yourself or the grill. I replaced the grates once (around $50) after the original ones rusted and they are ready for another replacement now. The gas line from the LP tank to the burners is rubber and may deteriorate over time if there are severe weather changes. I live in NJ and my line is leaking. I repaired it with electrical tape but there is still a leak there somewhere so if I don't shut the tank off after each use the tank will be empty next time (happened once). My fault for taking a shortcut repair and not replacing the gas line. The burners are not putting out high heat, perhaps due to the gas leak or they are clogged, so it started to take a long time to cook anything. My last time using it I had finish cooking in the over so I knew it was time to scrap it and get a new one.

As I said this is a good value at this price point but in retrospect I do regret buying this. The grill is OK but if I paid more to get a better grill that was built with higher quality parts then it could probably last 2 to 3 times longer so a better long-term value.

If you are a casual griller then this is fine and it will probably last you a few years with regular maintenance.

If you are even a little serious about grilling then I would encourage you to consider upgrading to Weber's Spirit or Genesis line (now you can use a rotisserie!) It's great to pay a low price but the design flaws will be a constant frustration and the cost "savings" might seem like a cost "wasting" if you could have put that money toward a better grill which would enjoy using and would last longer.

I upgraded to a Genesis S-330 ($700 sealed box from craigslist) and I put it together yesterday. Not a fair comparison to this model but it's pretty awesome.

OOS near me by all the different zip codes I used. Repped anyway. Would have been perfect size for me and a great price.

How accurate are Brickseek prices? Saw one today but the clearance tag showed $299.00. I didn't scan it.
