How are these compared to the Klipsch Reference series ? This seems like a good price. I wish they had it in Black.

Does it make any difference where these go ? I would like to put in the corner of a the room near the rear left or right. Are downfiring subs better for those positions ?

I have JAMO towers and Klipsch subwoofers. I love the JAMO speakers. They are great values for the price.

For the price good deal, but Jamo J112 or Klipsch Sub 12 will give you more oomph. J112 was recently on sale at Amazon via woot for $180 and Klipsch always comes in that range very often.

If you want to add an additional sub then go for it. I personally have been debating about adding second sub since long but i have small to medium size room so 3db or so won't cut much for $129 spent. Maybe 10" one would be a good fit.

2 subs can help with nulls as well which would yield way more than 3db of effective gain

definitely matters. place it where you will sit and listen from different parts of the room to find optimal placement.

google subwoofer crawl.

I agree with placement being key, but sometimes where a sub sounds optimal is not at all convenient our aesthetically pleasing. I have had $200 subs that I can place in my room that will yield fantastic results where I want them. I had a Jl audio $3000 sub that sounded awesome in my system placed optimally...the only problem was the optimal placement was five feet from the side front wall and four feer from the left side wall, Damn near right in front of the screen...

Jamo is a Danish speaker company owned by Klipsh so the quality is good. I have floor standing speakers by Jamo and they are great. I think they are well worth the monet.
