Be careful with in-store pickup at Frys. Check your product carefully before leaving.

I did an in-store pickup for a motherboard. The board was taped shut by the tape holding the in-store pickup sheet of paper Fry's put on. When I got home and opened it I found an empty CD sleeve and a motherboard that wasn't even from the same manufacturer as the box.

I drove all the way back to the store (about 1 hr in LA traffic) and they would not help me. Fry's insisted that the box had the right motherboard in it and it was not the board I brought back. They even had two managers come over to tell me they did not have any open boxes and they would not take it back or give me a refund.Mad

I disputed the charge on my credit card and they even disputed my dispute. They said the receipt you sign says you inspected the motherboard thoroughly!

Verrrrrry tempting. Who's the rebate through?

Also, product page doesn't go anywhere (I'm guessing it won't go live until midnight pacific time).

Product won't be up until hours later. Here's the rebate form [frys.com] in advance (It's through Rebate Access).

Just a heads up. The Fry's ad says mATX but the mobo is actually a mini ITX [newegg.com] (as posted in OP's title).

It's shit like this that makes me hate fry's sometimes.

some idiot might have swapped mobo in the box to pay less or something. These motherboard at frys arent sealed and they never check the inside contents when you buy them. They only check during returns. You are the unlucky one who got someone shady thief/scam. So dont blame it on frys. They only do whats in there best interest and what they see in front of them because i bet you there are people who try those shady returns. lol u really hate frys cause i see you post the same story in many of the frys deals here. If you hate it so much just boycott them. =/. Like me i hate bestbuys and will not buy anything from them.

If boxes are not sealed then the employee at the register needs to make sure that the product in the box matches what's on the box just as they match your ID to your credit card .

There is no reason for the consumer to take the hit and this also plays a role in loss prevention because sometimes when people do stuff boxes with 3 motherboards instead of one , the cashier will find this when they open the box to verify .
