Yes, I know you don't necessarily associate Whole Foods and Slickdeals, but I actually live a few blocks away from one(in the same shopping center as a CVS, lol), and I frequently stop in on the way back from the gym. No, they don't double coupons, and you usually can't get the outrageous deals that you can get at CVS or a conventional supermarket for that matter, but you can frequently get decent deals, not to mention lots of free samplesyummy And their '365' house brand is usually comparably priced to Trader Joe's, and cheaper than a comparable supermarket item. And maybe it's the economy, but I have noticed them getting considerably cheaper on some advertised items as of late.

Sales for Whole Foods stores are regional, although they seem to have some national deals on grocery items(canned and packaged foods). Sales tend to run on 2 and 4 week cycles, and new cycles tend to start on Wednesdays. They also tend to have regional sales, that run on the weekends or may also run on 2 week cycles(the "Madness" sales in the Northeast) that tend to feature regional deals like produce, meat, prepared food, bakery etc.

Your best bet to find out what's on sale at your local store, is to go to your store's website, which is located at www.wholefoodsmarket.com. Enter your zip code up top, and pick your store. In addition to the sales circular, there is often a calendar of store events, a twitter feed or facebook page.
One aspect of Whole Foods is that the stores tend to have a lot more "events" than a conventional supermarket. These can be promotions, contests,
sampling events, cooking classes. If your store calendar isn't posted online, there is always one at the store entrance. And while many of these promos are not worth a separate trip(though I have gotten some nice sample packs at times), if you are going to the store anyway, why not go when they are giving something away?

Whole Foods also distributes a coupon book in store, called "The Whole Deal". These are store coupons and are will NOT scan at other retailers, despite the bar codes. You should be able to combine them with a manufacturer coupon, but YMMV.

**snip**
Thanks again, this was fun. The store had 75 to give out. It had a full size bar of soap, a fizzy bath "bomb", lip balm, two packets of Raw meal or something, hand cream and trial giovanni hair products. Oh and I could pick up a free drink and luna bar at the "coffee shop" inside the store.

Oh and that link also pointed to the $4/1 Mineral Fusion cosmetics [wholefoodsmarket.com] q
All cosmetics are 20% off until the 12th I think. My most expensive store has the liquid lip gloss for $6.99, so only $1.59 each after discount and q. Not sure if it qualified but the sharpener was cheaper so if you need one...get it too Smilie The rest of their line is $$$ so no thanks. I may treat myself to one of each color and maybe wear it or gift it.

If you live in Boston, Whole Foods is once again sponsoring Earth Fest this Saturday on the Esplanade. Lots of free entertainment, kids activities, samples and promos. And the weather should be nice.

those of you who have taken 'everyday value tour' at WF, is it worth one hour and $5 that it takes to register?

my store it's free and you get a reusable bag which has really shrunk in size over the yrs from a giant bag to a small lunch bag, a bag of pasta, a jar of pasta sauce and a bottle of salad dressing.

b4 the tour starts, they usually put out some grapes, a drink and some cake or something to sample. during the tour they'll sample a few products like the freshly ground nut butters, if you are curious and ask during my tours they'll open products from the shelf.

i've gone on about 3 tours during the last couple yrs and i do find them informative and you can ask any question and make any comments. but they are not wow tours. not so sure i would pay $5. since it's somewhat similar to a factory tour where they promote their own products of which i've gone on many, and the only one i've ever had to pay was $3 for the ben & jerry one, i think i would protest on their facebook page or website. you can tell them the tours at the princeton store are free. ask what would happen if you forego the goody bag, could you take the tour for free? b/c so far all the salad dressings have been really, really nasty and you will be pissed you paid for it.

Nasoya tofu is on sale right now for $2.19 at my store. Combine that with the Whole Foods $1.25/2 coupon and two $0.75/1 coupons from mambosprouts (sorry, can't link from this computer) and you get cheap tofu. $1.63 for two.
