Looks like Scotts Earthgro Mulch is also on sale for $2.00 depending on your location. Most Midwest areas show up at the discounted price.

Shame HD doesn't have the Scotts Earthgro mulch on sale anymore. It was $2.50/bag as recently as Tuesday. It has a more uniform chip size.

If you've never tried black mulch, I suggest you do. But be careful, once you go black, it's tough to go back.

What?
They do...

It's also in the weekly ad.

Now, if you mean that it's no longer 5/$10, then you are correct. Not sure why it's a shame on HD though.

Definately CALL your local stores before you go and don't rely on the inventory listed on the website for the stores. Sells-out FAST and the inventory is not updated.

Thanks ! I'm definitely getting Scotts as it's more reliable.

"100% Premium wood mulch."

Not sure if I would call this stuff premium. I bought a bunch of this stuff at the last sale and it looks like a bunch of grounded up palm trees fronds and other tree waste that has artificial coloring added. Definitely not as nice as the redwood bark nuggets I used to buy but you get what you pay for.

After all the times this has been posted in the last few weeks, PA stores finally have it too.

I got twenty bags last year and will get as many this year.

Thanks for the headsup, OP.

What makes you like the black so much? Just the look of it?

I bought this stuff last year when it was $2.00 a bag. I was half tempted to call HD up and have them send an employee to my house and clean up the mulch and refund my money because the product is terrible. Stick with the Scotts mulch from HD. It's 100x better.

Yes. But it stops working after a month.
