Let people buy what they want without being a bitter prick. If YOU don't like the MacBook, don't buy it. Simple as that.

with eBay's 6% eBay bucks rewards and no sales tax, this ends up being the lowest price for the MBP Retina 13" 128GB model that I've seen. of course the 128GB SSD kind of sucks, but you can expand that with a 200GB microSD card and a flush-mount adapter

This is brand new so I suppose the warranty is the 1 year warranty from Apple.
BTW, how do you get the 6% eBay bucks rewards. I see only 2% with my account.

It's looking like Apple will have a bunch of leftover headphone jacks since they are switching to the lightning port-only for the new iPhone, so my guess is the new Macbooks will have only a single port -- a headphone jack. Smilie

That's currently what I'm doing with my Mac - but the problem is that you can't use the external drive for a lot of things, for example using it as the storage for Dropbox.

And then Mac also has a problem of deep sleeping when any external card is placed in, therefore you have to use a program such as Jettison to dismount the drive prior to sleeping. Annoying, but if you're really strapped for cash for not upgrading to the next highest SSD storage, then it's the only option.

That stinks about drop box.

Also the sleep issues were fixed sometime last year. Transcend Jet drives used to have that issue but that was fixed

And here it is 2016 and people still even consider buying a laptop with 128 GB of storage, with no option to expand it thanks to being "thinner and lighter" and being soldered in. Apple's archaic approach to storage is idiotic and it's amazing there are enough sheep that don't demand better. They really shouldn't offer less than 256 GB in these with 512 GB being more common.

But who am I kidding, this is the entry Mac for the people who need it so they can be flashy at their college or coffee shop while browsing Facebook and YouTube where literally a Chromebook would work just as well.

No, proprietary. There are options from places like OWC or scouring ebay for a larger compatible drive from another machine but IMHO not worth the price or trouble of just paying for a larger drive from the start.

I agree that 128GB is a joke and i don't even know how people get by with 128GB - well i guess by adding a SD card.

but in defense of apple, they will do whatever they can get away with to boost profits. that's just how it works.
