IMPORTANT NOTE FOR OpenWRT USERS:
--------------
Do not use OpenWRT 15.05.1; bricks this router
Details here: https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=63569

OpenWRT 14 is reported working. You can upgrade to 15.05.1 on top of 14, but config doesn't save.

OpenWRT 15.05 is reported working.

It's a crappy router from my experience. I got it free from Newegg. It's very unreliable and drops and restarts wifi signal all the time. I always thought free is free but in this instance, I would pass. Paying more for a steady and strong connection is worth more than this in this instance.

I'm considering it to play with openWRT if it is free. Bad idea?

Did you change the stock firmware to an open source version? There has been numerous reports that the stock firmware is horrible but if you did change it I won't waste my time getting one. Thanks

Newegg rebates take FOREVER. Still waiting 5 months for one of their old rebates.

I loaded the Netgear firmware on it as soon as I got it, and it is working good. The stock firmware sucks though.

Good point. I didn't know that they were still making 10/100. Must be a really old model.
