Hey,

I was in the market for a new mechanical keyboard and I found the Logitech G610 for $99.99 ($20 off or ~17% off).

This is a new keyboard by Logitech and is the first price drop I have seen for a professional looking keyboard with dedicated media keys, white back lighting, and cherry switches.

The only con to this keyboard is no RGB and no wrist rest if you want/need it.

Price Break Down:

$119.99
- $20.00 (Instant Savings)
=
$99.99 - Final Price with Free Shipping

Reference for new mechanical Keyboards users with the most common keys.

Blue Switches = Most Tactile Feedback, A lot of Clicking/Clacking (Loud), 50g + tactile bump of force require to activate a key
Brown Switches = Somewhat Tactile Feedback, Clicking/Clacking (Less Loud), 45g of force + tactile bump to activate a key
Red Switches = Little to no Tactile Feedback, Linear Switch (no "click) but clack when keys bottom out. 45g of force to activate a key. Great For Gaming.

*Note: MX Silent, MX Speed is pretty much a modified red switch. MX silent is slightly less noisy than red, MX speed has shorter key travel.

UPDATE!

Newegg now has it for the same price!

Unless the macro keys turn you off, it seems as if the G710+ that pops up every now and again at $80 would be good. I picked this one up not too long ago. Linky . For $100 you might be able to find an acceptable RGB/Mechanical (maybe not with browns though)

Edit:
For example, this [bestbuy.com], but probably has reds or black rather than brown.

If I didn't pick up the G710+ a few months ago, I probably would have jumped on this deal.

I'm pretty sure.

MX reds are linear switches with less actuation force. Smilie

I noticed that my G710+ came pre-installed with rubber o-rings on the key stems (glad they are finally catching on). This would shorten the stroke and prevent the klack when bottoming out.

Your G710+ with MX Browns came with O-rings? Great!

My question to mc704 was about MX Reds in G610 having "short travel".

But, in any case, great Monday to you too!

Smilie

I should be more specific. Less Force to Actuate a key press.

Key Travel distance varies with key cap sizes and manufacturers.

Almost posted misleading info Big Grin

I have a corsair K60 with reds at home that I've been gaming on for years
I have a rosewill RK-9000BR at work with browns that i've been typing on for years.

Browns definitely are better for typing by a mile - reds are definitely better for gaming by a little. Depends on your application but both keyboards have been great for me.
