Editor's Notes & Price Research

Written by Discombobulated

  • Easy to light Kingsford charcoal briquettes (sure fire grooves). Great to stock up for tailgating, picnicking or backyard barbecues - Discombobulated
  • This is a good price for 2x 18.6lb bags and it matches several popular Frontpage deals. -Corwin

Not at all. Limit is 2 at checkout. You go put them in your vehicle, walk back, buy again. I've done it for various deals. No clerk will put their hand out and tell you "Stop!". Some Lowes and Home Depot locations don't even obey the limit. I was in HD a few weeks ago picking up the SD deal on 27 gal totes. Talking to the service desk lady while my orders were being printed out. We talked about grills; charcoal, lump, infrared gas, etc. She said some restaurants will come in with trailers to buy up as much briquette charcoal as they can during sales, when there is a limit posted. They cannot buy the same product for the price with their wholesalers. Their store didn't care. If it sells, it sells. They will order more for the store.
good deal. lowes' kingford is 18.6LB per bag, walmart's 15.4LB per bag for $5.
Don't ever use lighter fluid or briquettes that come pre-soaked in lighter fluid. Buy a chimney starter for $10 and never look back. Your food will taste better (no lighter fluid taste), and it will be quicker to start your coals than it was with lighter fluid. IMHO.

They were marked 9.99, had them in my cart to checkout and I had to go get my card to pay. Came back and now they are 19.99...

I noticed the same thing. When I looked at the ad, it stated that it began the 19th. Seems like they let it leak a bit earlier than what it was supposed to.

Doesn't look like Home Depot is going to have this deal this year? I see their Memorial Day ad posted, but no mention of Kingsford or any charcoal on sale. Maybe I'm missing it or maybe they'll have a separate ad? I can't remember how they do it.

They had it a few weeks ago. Maybe it's lowes turn only. Last time it was only Home Depot.

Not T C. But I noticed that the June Costco ad posting showed Kingsford 100% All Natural Competition charcoal Briquettes (2 18lb bags) for $4.30 off. Wonder what the regular price is. But something to keep in mind, if you're a member.
