Haha looking at the alternatives they provide I think I'll stick to the Ecco shoes

When people talk about square toes being ugly, they're generally referring to the absurd, oversized, almost clown-shoe styles we saw in the earlier 2000s, or the ridiculously duck-billed ones we saw a bit later. That Mashable write-up is terrible.

Regardless, I have a pair of Ecco Berlin plain-toe (square) shoes. It's true: they're ridiculously comfortable. I have ankle problems and need a comfortable sole. I honestly found my Eccos to be the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, even more so than the numerous Nikes I've owned.

That said, I hate any stitching on the toe box. In my experience, the stitching fails right away, but then I have a habit of squatting.

SDers go on the same trips, cruises, wear the same clothes, are shopping addicts. Anyone can spot us, like a clown.
When I went to the MGM grand SD deal, it was dozens of others belonging to the same shopping cult. LOL.laugh out loud
