You can use the miles in any sky team companies. MQM is used to upgrade into their higher medallion levels. It starts from Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. You can learn more here: http://www.delta.com/content/www/...efits.html

One thing I do wonder is how the companion ticket is awarded?
Is that something I get as a welcome bonus or only when I renew the card?
The wording confuses me a little here as it says:
"Enjoy a Domestic Main Cabin round-trip Companion Certificate each year upon renewal of your Card.*"

You will get one companion ticket every year, and I think you get one right away if I recall correctly, but it is so restricted (21 day purchase requirement, cannot use with award ticket and a number of other restriction) I have not used mine in all the years I have had the card. You get 10,000 MQM for the first 25k you spend and then 10,000 more MQM once you spent $50K on an ongoing basis January to December. Looks like you get a bonus 10K MQM on this one too.

60,000 is a good amount of miles. I can usually fly round trip from Seattle to Atlanta for 23,000 miles total.

Thanks for the answer, meanwhile I also found a FAQ that clearly stated that the companion ticket is only granted after renewal and it clearly says no companion ticket when you get the card.
This is a huge bummer imho and that'll mean you're paying 195 USD for 10k Bonus Miles and 10k MQM Miles compared to the gold card offer.

Yeah got some miles from an international Delta flight and the miles are definitely worth less than AA. That's probably why they don't expire.

They don't expire because there is never saver award availability for dates you want. LMAO I have 120+ K. Wife has about 70K
One day I'll just buy weekend ticket to Dublin and stay drunk for 3 days.
