Why don't you back up your sources?

The laptop listed in this deal never included the LSE "spyware" that you speak of and updated BIOS was released to remove the LSE "spyware". This happened in Aug 2015 so you need to get your facts updated. Also, Think-branded products like Thinkpads never had LSE installed. What do you want Lenovo to do? Tell everyone please don't buy our products ever again because there was a software vulnerability that we have fix? There are ZERO software without vulnerability, you might as well not use computer if that's what you are afraid of.

As for Windows 10 telemetry, you can turn almost all of it off. Reddit guide [reddit.com] If you are really paranoid, I suggest you stop using any Google and Apple products as well, like Android and iOS. Better yet, you can write your own OS for your computer and smartphone so you can be sure no one is out to get you...laugh out loud

The ignorance is so strong with this one I don't why I even bothered responding.

Another vegetable regurgitating FUD that's either untrue or fixed already.

A decent price and an alternative for the Dell Inspiron 15 7559 that seems to go on sale a lot. 960M is kind of weak for 1080p when you play new games. Anyone know ETA for Pascal based mobile GPU from Nvidia? They are extremely efficient, since the GTX 1080 uses 180W so the mobile versions don't even have to be gimped much to reduce heat.

*fixed already lol

Like the ad-infested Win 10 OS? Or the malware in Lenovo PC BIOS?

Two wrongs don't make a right. Especially when it comes to a laptop.

Roll the dice folks.

From what I've read online, they are not going to release a 1080M nor 1070m, but rather full 1080 and 1070 for laptops with a small cut dow on TDP! which sounds awesome but I'm sure will cost a fortune!

Not a bad deal... GPU is pretty crappy (the 970M should be a minimal if you like playing latest games) but other specs are good for the money. I'd go for it if it had a slightly smaller display size :-/

I do see a similar model from Costco for $800, that too with 16GB memory. Other difference I see is the graphics card.

That's precisely the upside/downside to the new platform. There will now be opportunities to develop mobile platforms that are directly comparable to desktop versions. Unfortunately, expect the costs to be comparable as well... good news, kinda!

Good luck!
