Cool! I like telling fun stories, with no details, too. I am happy with my free overnight shipping from Amazon for life.
Mine flies out of range every time I use it. Both my older phantom 3 and now my phantom 4. It's not a sweat on either one. It automatically starts heading home in which case almost immediately comes back in range to control again. It basically just seems like an invisible fence that shows you how far you can/can't fly. It's no big deal. And you can buy a $25 non amped extender that boosts the range tremendously. Don't bother with the $200+ amped extenders though.
I will post the same advice that I post in every Phantom 3 thread: These things are fast and powerful, and can fly out of wifi range way faster than you think. The extra $200 for the Advanced and it's far better LightBridge transmitter are well worth it.

Nice!

But come on! Go go P3Pro sub-$800 with extra battery gadget!

Sigh...

I picked up the P3Pro for $699 (+tax) at Best Buy last week (PM'd to MicroCenter even though they were out of stock). Sale ended 6/5 afaik at MC. But, I'd happily take a deal on just some extra batteries.

Seems like a bit of a conflict.

Beware some Standard 3's have range issues. Mine was limited to about 400 feet before DJI repair center fixed. Their repairs are speedy quick, less than 1 week.

No, they only own 49% of your purchased goods so you still are majority share holder.

These fly out of wifi range too fast. Otherwise it takes great videos and pictures. I would spend the extra 150-200 bucks and get the advanced or pro.
