I've got an IPS and this monitor, side-by-side. The IPS is obviously much brighter with more vibrant colors and deeper blacks, but this is also one of the best TN panels I've seen. The differences between the two are not light years. I actually prefer this one for gaming, and not just because of the g-sync, but I feel like it's not quite as "harsh" as the IPS for long periods. The difference (colors, blacks, brightness) between this and an IPS is about the same difference between this and my other 2 TN panel monitors, which this one is superior to.

Incredible deal. Don't listen to the stupid TN complaints. I have this monitor and it's amazing.
I had one of these and thought the IPS would be night and day better, so I went with the Acer XB271HU. The IPS is better, but it's not $200 better. Found another one of these on Amazon warehouse and went back to it and sold the XB271HU.

The TN on this one is extremely good once calibrated, which takes all of 5-10 minutes.

Still a good deal regardless if you don't care for IPS.

I missed this deal last time around. In for 1.

While everyone is correct in that its not an IPS, its also 200-400 cheaper than what an IPS of this quality would cost.

Most of the reviews I've found on it, say that its "a really really good TN panel." The reality is that 1440p 144hz 27inches are very hard to come by, and the manufacturers of the IPS panels are almost all the same. And from the stuff I've read, IPS Quality Control seems like dogshit.

So while you guys buy and return 6 IPS, and deal with the hassle of returning them for BLB and other issues, I'll enjoy my "perfected TN."

Also, while this guy could just be a fanboy, this is one of the user reviews that made me start watching for this monitor, and eventually pulling the trigger. (I didn't want to drop 700 bucks on a predator, or 500+ on a refurb one).

Edit: planning to get a 1070 in a few months and think I will get a lot of enjoyment out of this, compared to my old 23 1080p 60hz on my 7870.

I've seen so many reviews like this. I'll get an IPS in about 5 years when this one craps out.

it's like people who told me not to buy a plasma TV. well I can spend 600 bucks on the 99th iteration of plasma that doesn't have burn in issues anymore and great for sports, or I can spend 4x as much for a OLED or w/e that's almost equivalent...
