Damn, if the Steam summer sale wasn't happening in a week, the 5% isn't worth my time since 20% off deals have popped up rather frequently on eBay as of late.

Exactly, I wish this was another 20% deal but I doubt we will see one before the steam sale starts

no tax on eBay, and with the tax here in CT being up to 6.735% or whatever that's about a 10% difference

Well it's like the old saying " what do you call people from Virginia? Virginians. people from Texas? Texans. people from Connecticut? tax payers"

What's the title of the email?

I don't think you need the email. This [paypal-gifts.com] link worked for me.

so when you buy something that is taxed, then tell the cashier that you are paying with a gift card, they remove the tax?

um no. tax on pretty much everything except food. but if you're buying online from an entity located outside Connecticut then there is no sales tax (technically you're supposed to report it on your tax forms)

That is horrid, its considered double taxation because lets say I bought a target gift card and I use the target gift card to buy goods, there will be tax applied on the goods and that's all you need. Paying tax on a gift card and then using that same gift card to buy goods that are taxed again doesn't make sense. In CA all gift cards are exempt...

I'd say the rootin tootin Texans flying their planes into IRS buildings was the signal they stopped paying? Connecticut residents should take note
