Just ordered a Nest Gen 3 Thermostat via Lowes. They price matched Staples 199.99 deal and gave me 10% off = $179.10

Staples link : http://www.staples.com/Nest-3rd-G...ct_2229970

Lowes Link: http://www.lowes.com/pd/Nest-Lear.../999917946

Receipt is attached. Staples was already sold out. I called Lowes Customer Service. Since I was doing an in store pickup the receipt was scanned and emailed.

How did you get 10% off? I'm assuming this was brick and mortar.

Lowes wouldn't give me the extra 10% because it wasn't in stock locally. They did however pricematch the $199

And do not forget to add a rebate from your utility company. Mine is a $75 rebate.

That's cool, they won't give us a rebate for anything that's energy conservative here.

I just got back from Lowes with mine. They matched but didn't do the 10%, however, with their credit card I get 5% off. Thanks Slickdeals members!

Went to Lowes and the cashier said they don't price match sale items. Went to Home Depot and they priced matched it on the spot even though staples were oos online.

Uhh yes it does. Go to masssave.com. $100 rebate if you use a participating utility company.

When buying appliances or heating/cooling systems, ALWAYS check rebates from your utility company.
Makes it a real slickdeal.

Regarding rebates, if you've checked in the past and there was nothing good, check again, something may have popped up. The best I found earlier this year was $25 from the gas co for a programmable thermostat. Checked today, and the electric co has $100 on a list of specific thermostats.
