Missed the price error whirlpool last month.
Today saw this Samsung 24.6-cu ft French Door Refrigerator with Dual Ice Maker (Black Stainless) ENERGY STAR on sale for $1498 (Was $2,649.00 Save 43% thru 06/21/2016 ) in my local lowes.
Online price should be the same if you can find a 'in stock' store. (My local store shows out of stock but there is display with price tag showing the $1498

Review is pretty good.

homedepot:

Add 10% coupon and pay with Gift card to save more..:look around

Share your experience if you have this model.

I haven't placed the order. My only concern is whether 24.6 cu. ft. is big enough...Was thinking to buy the 29.7 cu ft LG one but the lowest price I could find is around $2500. Mad

using renovo lowes for the 10% code drops it to 1348.20. take it further with 6% off gift cards from raise or card cash. looking at 1267

seems like CNET bashed this fridge for having cheap feeling drawers and shelves. for the price tho perhaps you can live with it

I've had 3 Samsung appliances, a dishwasher that was a total pos a fridge sent back after a few days and a range that's looks nice but stovetop temps aren't good. Even an appliance repair man said he would avoid Samsung appliances.

this. i would not recommend samsung appliances to my worst enemy. had a fridge, washing machine, and dryer. all three had major issues within 2 years. the fridge in particular would stop cooling and require a manual defrost to work again. they are junk.

I have Samsung fridge for 5 years and no problems... very happy with energy use...Watt, killer tested.... temperature is within 2 degrees... freezer is perfect... I make my own ice cream with frozen bowls.

I understand few people complain... judging all reviews I general; 99% from unsatisfied and 10% are so happy with purchase they make effort to review.

Samsung provides 10 year warranty on some units... I don't think they in business to loose money... my opinion.

whirlpool is comparable to Samsung and LG is catching up... nothing else infield can compare... wire shelves in freezer, upper shelve doesn't come out... it's 2016 come on.

and I'm here because I am happy customer of Samsung appliances.. and I made effort to review it positive.

I am not reviewing this specific model, just overall quality of kitchen appliances from samsung.

To add, there's a similar model to this one made by samsung, that's sold by homedepot/hhgregg ect for the same price that has an extensive list of issues with the ice machine.

This one seems to have addressed the bulk of the issues and complaints reported by most on that model.

Just don't expect to go 5 years with out replacing anything in it, it's still and appliance and need to be maintained. I'd splurge and get the 5 year coverage, so when something does happen it pays for it's self.

Just don't bother with the Lowe's coverage, it's worthless. Pays for almost nothing; so if/when shelving or fridge lining cracks for instance like they do with Whirlpool appliances, they won't pay for them after the year is up. Read the fine print of the coverage to see all the exclusions.

my aunt is in the process of sending hers back on account the fridge part is dying after less than three months and this is the second service call. She got hers from home Depot and if you read the reviews on home depot many have had issues. The reviews on Lowes and best buy are more favorable to the Samsung brand.

We are very leary of buying anything from LG. We had the top-rated (Consumer Reports) washer & dryer which both turned out to be lemons. My mother-in-law has an LG stainless refrigerator which has given her all kinds of problems. On a positive note, my father bought a Kenmore refrigerator made by LG
(against my advice), & has had no problems at all. Maybe it is the luck of the draw ...

what's wrong with lowes' coverage?

it lists:

5-Year Major Appliance Extended Protection Plan ($1,000-$1,499.99)

$119.97
Food spoilage reimbursement from the date of Plan purchase up to $250 per claim.
30% Maintenance reimbursement from the date of Plan purchase. Includes water filters, washer hoses, washer fresheners, and more!
Laundry Reimbursement up to $50. Starts after manufacturer's warranty.
If your appliance fails and re-installation is required, we'll cover the cost.
We'll cover necessary repairs due to normal wear-and-tear.
We'll cover repairs due to power surge, from day one.
Rental reimbursement coverage for refrigerators and freezers, from the date of Plan purchase.
No Lemon Policy - If your appliance requires a fourth repair for the same major failure within a 12-month period, we'll replace it.
Laundry Reimbursement and No Lemon Policy benefits begin after the manufacturer's warranty. All other benefits begin on the date of purchase.

The coverage looks pretty good ?
