I'm going to pass on these for now, but had to give you TUAR and post this to let you know I appreciated the quality formatting, linkage and overall effort you put into the OP. Quality stuff, and a good deal for those looking for backpacks of this type.

That's what I'm thinking--my youngest is going into middle school and I don't think it will be adequate.

Can anyone attest to the actual size/durability for middle/high school students?

I was really disappointed in the quality of the Pottery Barn backpacks. I bought one for my son and within a few months it was completely falling apart. He's now had an L.L.Bean for about a year and he'll get years of use out of it. I picked it up for around $20 at the L.L.Bean outlet. If you're searching for a quality bag and are near an outlet it's a great buy!

I had one of these when my son was little. used it for travel to keep hands free. imo I don't feel it's okay for a teen with so many school books but it was perfect for a carry all/diaper bag. now I pack it on water days for school because it is super durable and has lasted years (he is 5, had it since he was 2)
