I think the master lock is supposed to be some kind of patented system of protection to keep you from accidentally touching the pusher while diving. Seems like a great deal for the right person. 500m is some serious diving.

so what does it mean when I do an internet search on it, and the only pages that pull up are all discount sale websites.

It means you need to learn how to use search better. From the top Google results:

and more...

No one uses a watch like this for diving. Any serious diver is using a wrist-mounted dive computer which gives much more information on a backlit screen that is far easier to read. The "dive watch" is an out-dated anachronism that is just about style, nothing more. The idea that anyone took this to 500m (!) for any reason beyond bragging rights is silly.

Certified dive master with 500+ dives, none to this depth because 500m is insane.

You are correct. This would would be more for style to wear. Noone in here will ever go half a kilometer under water unless you have a specific purpose. You can barely see anything at 500 m.

Weird, you would think that someone who claims to be a certified master diver, would at least know that 500m doesnt actually mean it is rated to go to 500m. It is almost as if people online can make up stories... hmmm.

Dive watch's like this that have helium escape valves have been known to be worn while divers are out of the water, in a heliox saturation chamber. Think 15 days under water at 300M.
