My 16GB version gets write speeds of 60.39 MB/s. A larger drive almost always has faster speeds. Of course, it's not a HDD...nor is it supposed to be. Try putting the Passport on your keychain.

I have the 16GB version of the Samsung drive, and it's awesome. The 128 would far more awesome!

Writing to this will take forever. At that size...I would just spend $10 more and get a 500GB WD Passport and have write speeds an order of magnitude faster.

wouldn't the passport be a spinning drive as opposed to a solid state that this one is?

Have this flash drive. Its my favorite one. Its my Media drive for my PS4.

Great price here. Doesnt beat free like many of us got it here from the samsung TV error. But I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have the 128gb version of this and have been disappointed with write speed. Real-world write speeds of 30MB/s for a single large file. My Sandisk copies the same file at 74MB/s.

...your 500GB HDD won't travel in a pocket, survive a trip through the washer, or a drop from more than a few inches.

To be fair, write speeds for this flash drive (I've got the 16 and 32GB versions) are fairly mediocre - but that is pretty much par for course when it comes to flash drives.

If you want truly fast external storage, get yourself one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Po...B01AVF6WN2 ... ~400MB/s sustained read/write speeds.

I also have the 16GB version and I think it's the perfect design for a flash drive. I really don't like those little dongle drives. This is very compact, looks cool, shock proof, water proof, usb 3 with good speeds. I don't know why anyone needs a 128GB flash drive, but I guess if I needed one, this would be the one I'd buy.
