Rather get a chromebook, especially with android apps coming to them.

Can you install Linux on this? In select markets, it ships with Ubuntu. Looks like USA is not one of them. If it's not too painful to install Ubuntu or Mint, I'd buy it immediately.

I would have bought an HP Stream 11, but I read it was a pain to install Linux & drivers were an issue.

EDIT: When I added this to my cart it said 9300 were still available.

EDIT 2: Free return shipping, bought! Dell's loss if it isn't Linux friendly...

EDIT 3: Tax is charged. Total about $159 for me.

EDIT 4: This is an Inspiron 11 3162. Strangely, an automated email arrived from Dell with the billing and shipping info changed to someone else at my address. This other person ordered from Dell previously, but many years ago.

Estimated delivery date 6/24/2016. Cost breakdown from itemized invoice:

210-AGPN Inspiron 11 3162 $73.75
619-AHCP Windows 10 Home (64Bit) English $26.24
525-0033 McAfee LiveSafe Consumer 12 Month Subscription $50.00
Total: $149.99.

I don't understand the economics / accounting aspects of it. Why is McAfee $50? Some sort of accounting trick?

EDIT 5 FINAL EDITION: Linux support is minimal. This model is certified to run Ubuntu if you use the manufacturer's pre-installed image. From a quick google search, doing it yourself is a massive pain.

Order canceled. Dell's loss, it isn't Linux friendly.

Thank you to all of the Slickdeals sympathizers that went on this journey with me.
