Thread Details

You can get account credits currently at Dish due to the loss of WGN as well as the NFL Network. Who knows how long they'll be gone while they hammer out details of a new deal. While I couldn't care less about WGN, not having NFLN kind of sucks and will really bite if this lingers into preseason.

I was only able to snag $5 off 6 months, but YMMV. Satellite costs way too much these days but can't convince the wife to dump it entirely.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I remember a few years back I was about to call up for getting a discount because they (or Direct TV, not sure who we had at the time) pulled SYFY (which then had wrestling and ghost shows-I guess that is why they changed their name) The Nicks and Comedy Central...It was pretty much the whole line-up for our family...off their network. While on hold, I just decided to cancel. After canceling, I got online and bought an antenna (already had a mast) and a booster. Got those put up and we have been saving $100 each month. With HULU and Netflix (and a good internet connection), most do not need high priced cable and sat hookups. Especially if you know of other (shady) ways of finding your favorite shows. And sometimes the shady way is the only way to find programing. Just like people who like BBC programing.

Should just switch to DirecTV, you can get unlimited data on AT&T in a bundle. Dish and their CEO Ergen are scum.

I just canceled my Dish last month even though I was only paying $7 per month. The quality just sucks. It is 1990s technology and I wasn't even watching it.

i dont know what you mean? Hopper 3 is the best box right now. The satellites they use are no better or worse than Direct. The only issue with Dish is their constant haggling with channels.

Maybe that is why he was only paying $7 a month. He either had a crap TV box (made in the 1990's) or they had him on standby and was not receiving and channels. He did say he never watched it. Maybe because it was shut off??? laugh out loud

WGN is putting out some new and amazing new programming that's getting a lot of notice in the tv world with Underground, Outsiders and Salem.

It's 22 gigs and then you are throttled and AT&T is a joke and has some of the worst customer service on the planet. Dishes Hoppers blow directs dvrs out of the water Smilie

maybe you should know before you bash. I am on the unlimited plan and use over 50 gigs on my line a month and have never been throttled. so it's not throttled 100 percent of the time. only if the network is congested which in my case I've never seen.

If you actually had experience with a Hopper there's no way you could spew your CRAP

I didn't add it in because I believe it was canceled. But their original programming is quality as well as different from anything else on tv.
