You can get and Edgestar for $209. When we bought them, the reviews were much better than the older model Frigidaire. We have bought two, one one year ago and one two years ago. They have been working flawlessly. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

funnily enough... Model FAD704DWD != FFAD7033R1.
what you linked isn't the same product, different generations. the comparison really isn't valid.

here's the real product, 263$ and none sold by Amazon.

as always, check your local power company for rebates when buying ACs and dehumidifiers...

Can I ask when you purchased yours? How long did it last?

I went with it based on Consumer Reports' ranking. I'm a new home owner, its my first dehumidifier.

this discount on top of the BestBuy VISA checkout promo https://slickdeals.net/f/8938435-best-buy-additional-savings-w-visa-checkout-10-off-100-free-shipping... that just started, makes this dehumidifier purchase a very slick deal!

also, anyone know of where one could find a Wifi thermometer or an inexpensive Wifi thermometer?

i'd like to put the wifi thermometer in the basement to monitor temp and humidity levels. as i write this i wonder if any of the dehumidifiers out there have built in wifi capabilities to be able to change the humidity levels and for efficient operation?

I'd say so, seeing as how the thread is a year old. Wink

I bought (2) a year ago. The one setup to automatically drain iced-up for the 1st time this week... The one that shuts-off when the bucket fills (in 24-36 hrs. in wet weather) has not iced-up. I kept an old unit as a backup but so far these seem to use less power & pull more water out of the air... Our finished basement has always been bone-dry & I want to keep it that way. Most of our moisture comes from copper pipes that sweat from cold water pulled-up from our deep well... Occasionally I over-water the landscaping which increases the basement's humidity...
