i bought from bestbuy a week ago. it is a nice machine but i returned it because
1) restarting windows always get stuck in killing the GDI+ process or something.
2) acer switch alpha 12 is now in the market now. so i (as personal choice) would buy that instead b/c i want a even more portable i5 machine 2-in-1 with pen for only $750-780.

People do not think

But here's what they said when it was $50 more expensive:

I got one, and love it. It was atrocious before I did a clean install, however. 50GB out of 250GB taken up by Lenovo backups and partitions! Wiped it all, installed from a USB stick created from Microsoft's tool for it, and it's been great. Activated without me putting a key in as soon as I installed the WiFi driver. All other drivers were found automatically by Windows.

word of advice, i went in expecting a literally "excellent" condition laptop.
when i received the laptop at geeks squad stand, bottom rubber feet were very dirty, had scratches on the bottom. Also, trackpad had smudges that were very hard to get off. The lid also had small nicks.

I didn't notice this until i went home, so I had to go back to the store to exchange for another one.

Second unit I got was a little better, but still not perfect
1 little nick on the top lid, bottom is still not perfect.

These excellent open box laptops must have been from display stands for them to have gone through those abuse. Cannot have been customer returns. No customers would beat the shxx out of yoga within return period like this.

I think they should be labeled as "used/display" instead of open box. Open box excellent misleads you to think that it's going to be excellent and hasn't been used.

I am using it now, but still not happy about the cosmetic blemishes.

I bought mine online, and it was in nearly perfect condition. Track pad had a few fingerprints that wiped right off, and rubber feet needed wiped off too. Maybe better luck online than in store? Wonder if online ones would be more returns compared to in store displays?

I see how that could be possible. Stores would have mix of returns and displays. But I am also wondering how are they getting more than 1 display unless they had multiple of them displayed at the same time?

anyways, that was my experience and wasn't 100% pleasant, but pretty happy with the laptop itself and the performance. Had the yoga 2 pro, but this seems like a more solid machine overall.

They sold out on all $709.99 open box laptops, does the student discount apply to the open box as well?

Ive had this computer since January. I love it. I don't use it for much beyond school work / Web browsing / video streaming though. Biggest complaint I have is that the charger was probably designed by a moron. I remedied the situation by buying a small black extension cord.

I can't get the coupon to work for the 256G open box (clearance price of 859.99); I keep getting an error message indicating that the code I've entered does not apply to my order. The specific UPC of 4525900 is not on the list for either the Surface Deals or select Blue Labels. Any thoughts on what I've done wrong?
