Shit, I was just about to post this. Lols lols.

Edit - Apparently it was posted afterall but this may have been earlier?

Sound and Vision magazine only last month heralded Monoprice's ATI AT1807 re-brand, dubbed the Monolith 7, a "Top Pick", and reviewer David Vaughn concluded "At $1,499, this amp is an incredible steal. While it doesn't quite reach the heights of its more expensive competition, it still offers a helluva view."

http://www.soundandvision.com/con...ier-review

I've been following Monoprice's pricing since the product's release last month, and until now, their usual 10-15% off codes have not typically applied.

Today only, the Monolith 7 is available for 20% off at $1199.20 plus shipping, using discount code CRAZY. This is truly an audiophile-grade product at a stupendously low price. If you've been debating getting into the "separate" pre-pro/amp home theater game, NOW is the time. Get one quick before they sell out!

Enjoy SD'rs!

PS - This is my first deal post... Hate gently please.

FML. Repost by 10 minutes... Penance for mining all that extra info. "No good deed goes unpunished", right?!

Awesome deal with code if you have a system that can truly take advantage of this. The majority of people don't need 200 watts running to their surrounds.

pretty amazing, curious what this amp compares too
It's a re-brand of the ATI model AT1807 which MSRP's (and sells) for $2995:
https://soundapproach.com/ati-amp...ifier.html

Note - The $1495 model listed is their 2-channel version. Monoprice's is only available with 7 channels, aka ATI's $2995 version.

Sound and Vision reviewed and gave it their "Top Pick" designation not a month ago: http://www.soundandvision.com/con...ier-review

To put quality in comparison, not even Pioneer's flagship SC/Elite models, with their Class D3 amp topology, put out anywhere close to the power of this amp. All-channels-driven wattage of Pioneer's offerings are ~half the Monolith.

Also FWIW - I actually bought my own Saturday at 10% off and thought even that may have been a pricing mistake by Monoprice (several previous MP discount codes excluded this product).

In short, I don't see this going lower than 20% off, ever.

which is the re-branded ATI AT1807.

All are manufactured by ATI in California. Yes, made in the USA and cheaper than all competition by a long-shot at this quality level.

Lol @ the thought of a bi-amped 5.1

Too bad my surrounds are measily in-ceilings. Hrmmmmm.

Separate pre-amp surround processor, aka pre-pro.

One of the most popular right now and probably next on my upgrade-itis list is the Marantz AV7702mkii: http://www.audioholics.com/av-pre...ii-preview

A good amplifier will last you decades. I have always been a big fan of using a nicer high end receiver as a processor and swap them out frequently.
I am sure turnne will pop in shortly to poo poo my choices, belittle me some, and in general start talking about $4K and up anthem units.... :-)

If only I had $1200 to drop... (and even more importantly, an excuse to get the wife to not kill me...)

I'd be all over this if it was 3x200W for $500. Mono would probably sell a lot more of these than the 7x
