If you have a halfway decent gaming PC, you can get the remastered games for free. Bioshock 1, 2 and Minerva's Den DLC. They are not updating Infinite for PC because it is already good enough graphically.

Also, you can buy both games and the DLC for about $10 or less on the Steam Sale right now.

Also via a Steam announcement on each game's landing page.

At least they skip some generations unlike Hollywood, who release every film on every possible format at least 2-3 times. laugh out loud People vote with their wallet and if they are stupid enough to buy the same crap over an over again, no company would deny a chance to milk it.

Nice that they are offering free upgrades to anyone that already owns it on Steam.

Yes. It's the same as movie remakes and sequels. For uncreative and gutless people, it's much safer and easier to remake something that exists and was already popular than come up with something new which requires effort.

I loved the first 2 Bioshock games. I wasn't as impressed with Infinite (apart from the amazing graphics). I still haven't played the DLC on Infinite which I have on the PC because every time I try to load it on my only recent Windows PC it says there is some connect error, and as usual on Google I could find no answers. I'm hoping I'll be able to play it when I finally get another PC set up. Only thing stopping me is work (i.e. not having time).

I still have the PS3 1 & 2 Ultimate collection in shrinkwrap. Guess that was another waste even though I got it cheap. Maybe if this hits $20 or less on the PS4 before I get my PC working I might get this.

I guess it means no backwards compatibility on X1 now for these games

I thought Bioshock 1 was backwards compatible?

Edit: Looked it up. I was wrong. So nope, say goodbye to that dream, just like me hoping Skyrim was going to be before they announced Skyrim Remastered...

invest in a gaming rig already. I did reluctantly about 4 months ago when my ps plus expired and I found a decent rig at cash america pawn using their app on my phone. we all know the consoles are in limbo right now with the new ones around the corner. with the re releases it's obvious they're not even trying. cash grabs from Sony aren't new

Remasters generally fall down in price faster than original games.

I especially expect Bioshock collection to drop in price soon after release. Cause the franchise has always been among the cheapest AAA titles in every PC game sale. Hopefully it will get to sub-$20 not too long after release.
