"Applies only to hotels and car rentals booked through ChaseUltimateRewards.com".
So, you cannot use to book car rental with discount offers

The prices quoted at UltimateRewards site are the actual total (net prices) you pay. The prices most of the other portals quoted are before all applicable taxes.

Was super disappointed when I saw it was through Chase, because I'm currently staying at a hotel with a rental car and am going to be reimbursed for it by work.

If you have the INK card, the UR prices are lower. I booked a vacation through the INK UR portal, & it was the cheapest I could find. My trip total was 3400+, so I booked 3 nights, my wife booked the other 2 through her UR account, so we got $350 discount, the max discount otherwise is $250, my total is 3100+. Chase was the 2nd best price I had found, but with the 10%, easily beat the other site by about $250.

Just recently booked a luxury class car (2016 BMW 3 series) in California for 4th of July weekend for $100 tax included with Ultimate Rewards. Best prices are with National, Enterprise, or Alamo.

Try searching on Tuesday and Wednesday, prices keep fluctuating. I use for all my hotel stays, the price you see on Ultimate Rewards includes tax. I've gotten 5 star hotel suites on Vegas strip for a couple of hundred tax included on busy weekends. Also, for some reason 2-3 weeks before arrival date the prices seem to get lower. Airline tickets though is definitely a ripoff on UR.

This only applies to Chase Freedom cards, so there's no value if you have a Chase Sapphire card since you already get 20% off any travel booked through their portal.

Citi Dividend for this quarter is better. Hotel (only Hilton though) and car rentals have 5% CB and you don't need to go to other inflated sites in order to get the CB.
