They are putting on a hell of an opening ceremony. I haven't watched all of it but what I have seen is amazing.

Much agreed. The country really has so much history and can offer so much to this world, unfortunately, their politics don't exactly follow the norms of the world's governments. I'm glad they've made this about the people and history of the culture, versus the government.

This is true but you know I do believe the barriers in countries differences are lessened though sports like the Olympics.
