all the xbox360 make great $30 media boxes, more capable than other media boxes at this price range

You know a price is good when you think "I already these, but a backup wouldn't hurt".

Wii - Extremely
360 - A little more difficult, but there are dozens of tutorials all over the net.
PS3 - I never actually modded my PS3, but it seems easy enough.

If you're just looking to play old nes/sega/snes/MAME games your best bet would be to use an old desktop and connect it to your tv if you don't mind messing with a few emulators or a front end if you really wanna get fancy. You can get replica controllers pretty cheaply on amazon.

Does this work on ALL X360's or just certain (older?) models?

I'd like to get one with HDMI as my OG one is still working, but not sure how long it'll last.

Xbox 360 and PS3. They are still alive with some new games still coming out.

These $30 ones don't have built-in WiFi, I believe. That's a big drawback of them, plus they use a lot more energy and are much louder than streaming stick devices. But they can play 360 games, if you want to use it for its intended purpose.

Just played MGSV on PS3, amazing.
Considering PS3 games don't work on PS4, and it still functions as a great media device/bluray player, I'd never get rid of mine. My only complaint is that Sony messed up with the Other OS (aren't they supposed to be giving us something back, what happened?) and I lost a good portion of my hard drive when they removed the "Other Os" functionality with my Yellow Dog Linux installation locked in there.
