Can this be programmed to walk around like a spider until it finds the best reception area for all of my devices?

It sure can! You can even program it to wipe your butt with two of the antennas while it stand on 4 and used the last two to do the cha-cha. Stick Out Tongue

I'll stick with my 2 Asus AC3200's for now, got them for $180 each and work really good in my 34' RV. Smilie

This Router has some great features. One of the great features is 8 ports. No wireless router on the market has more than 4 ports. The speed is good. Setup is easy. Not a huge fan of the new online setup procedure but it worked so I can't complain. Speed is good. 3 year warranty is huge for me. No worries about having to buy another one for 3 years.

From the review of this router at SmallNetBuilder [smallnetbuilder.com]:

Quote :
At any rate, the testing I have done shows the EA9500's wireless performance very similar to last year's crop of AC5300 routers. The EA9500's main differentiation at this point, aside from the lets-keep-em-confused AC5400 moniker, is its lone-wolf status as a Broadcom-based router that has working MU-MIMO. In the end, this is just another really expensive router that's unlikely to light up any of your pesky dead spots or handle a large number of devices any better than a much cheaper AC3200 class tri-radio alternative.

So, after reading that article, I guess I can save my money for something else.
