Best Buy is matching Amazon's deal the other day for an open box version of the playbar. It is listed at 524.99. Price for new playbar is usually 699.99. Shipping is also free and available, doesn't have to be in store.

Just an FYI, if you have "verizon wireless rewards" this is the same price for new.....

But that said, if you have the Amex deal you'll get $25 off the price here at BB.

Amazon deal was factory Refurbished by Sonos with one year warranty. This is a good price for open box as I assume it comes with the full warranty. Make sure warranty card is in there. Square Trade would not insure the Sonos refurbished playbar. I think BB was $120 for the 4 year plan.

BB showing $99.99 for 4 year warranty, at this price point. I think I'd get the open box and add the 4 warranty, instead of buying the new for $699, with a one year warranty.

aren't these open box items from best buy used/store returns/store display/demo items? why would you pay this much for a used playbar? buying it refurbed by sonos seems like a safer bet.

It depends. The ones you can order online from the warehouse are usually pretty good and are usually just returns. They only sell the display items as open box in store and those are usually a little more discounted. I have ordered several open box items on best buy online (including the holiday play 1 set last year) and haven't had a problem.

Any way to know how many they have left for online ordering (not in-store pick-up)?

I have bought 2 Play 5s and a Play 3 from BB open items and all of them were in pristine condition. Two of them still had the wrap around the speakers and the other one didn't, but looked and sounded new. These are expensive so some people just have a change of heart and returns the item because of the price tag.

In-store or online?
