This is my main camera for work, and it's great. a whole lot less weight than my Nikon D7000, and a whole lot more functionality. I mostly take pics of products, action sports shots, landscapes, and a few videos.

the 14-140 is an excellent one do it all lens too. If you hate swapping lenses, This is the one to get. Still incredibly lightweight and compact.

One issue, I get some fluorescent banding if I don't have the shutter slow enough. Otherwise, no major issues.

Just bought a used Sony RX10-ii for $815 during the Prime 20% off Amazon Warehouse sale. Can't find any good comparison between the two. Can any dSLR users chime in with this camera's uses for video recording? Only used bridge cameras and point and shoots so far.

Both the RX10ii and Panny G7 posted here are excellent video cameras, though different enough that there are not going ot be that many head-to-head comparisons floating around. The G7 is an interchangeable lens camera, which can be an advantage (particularly if you ever feel the need to film at super-large aperture settings) though the Sony has a high quality fixed aperture zoom.

I have the g7 with 14-42 lens. How much better is this 14-140 lens. Considering selling my camera and picking up this bundle seeing the lens is 600 by itself

I have this camera with the 14-42 lens and use it solely as a 4k video camera, the output is great and can't complain for the price ($599 + $100 gift card from B&H a few months ago). I rent the 7-14mm for wide angle shots, nice lens it aint cheap at $700 new, though made in Japan.

For a good explanation of configuring the camera for video see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NgtBUIQPbM ignore the fact that its for the GH4, the G7 is a derivative of the GH4 so many of the options are identical.

Also low light performance isn't the best and if its too dark autofocusing is useless, (same story with most cameras). To get the most I got this external LED light, https://www.amazon.com/Bestlight-...B00WTSYYN0 . It drinks batteries like a vampire but the footage is top notch, just don't blind anyone lol.

The one built into the RX10 ii (24-200mm equivalent, f2.8).

so hard to decide between this and canon 70d. 70d has dual pixel af for smooth camcorder like focusing which is great for vblog and motion capture with people moving around and for selfie like videos. G7 has much better sharpness in videos and better for just interview style or travel landscape videos. Leaning towards getting canon 70d and then using iphone 6s with camera mod for better sharpness where focus and lighting isnt issue
