I wish it was a Signature Edition, but still a great price for a top ultrabook with great specs.

Kind of suspicious of it because of the Asus ZenBook hinge issue. Also, Inspiron 13 with similar specs is $750 at Best Buy, $150 off college student coupon makes it $600.

Good specs but lets be honest, this design is a dinosaur.

At this point I can't recommend any thing that isn't at least a 2-in-1 to anyone other than a student.

While I do not have personal experience with this device the portable market is currently all about versatility.

For enterprise and entertainment I feel there are much more attractive options for the general user.

I like how Amazon has this in the category "Traditional Laptops"....very fitting in this case.

May I ask what are the difference between the asus zenbook ux305ua and ux303ua(for $100 more)? I understand that the ux303ua is touchscreen which I know I'd never use.....Also the ux303ua has the ability to upgrade to 12GB ram while the ux305ua has both of it's ram soldered and stuck at 8GB.

I have the 5th gen of this same laptop. Great light laptop. I'm pretty happy with it.

They are different in the design the 303 has a thicker design and a different hinge

Wow, thanks for your amazing insight. You really added meaningful ideas to the conversation. I'm so convinced that the Inspiron is garbage now, especially with all the reports of the hinge becoming loose over time across multiple generations and lines [google.com] of the Inspiron due to the actual hinge joint being made out of plastic, which inevitably strips and wears away. [notebookreview.com] Oh wait, that's the Asus ZenBook line!

I actually went out and compared the two laptops along with a lot of other 13" ultrabooks in the past month because I was shopping for a laptop for grad school. Finally decided to buy the Inspiron 13 7368 Saturday since it was $700-150 at Best Buy for i5/8GB/256 GB. The ZenBook UX303/305 was very tempting due to the price, but the Best Buy student coupon actually made the Inspiron a much better price. The ZenBook UX305UA is almost an entire pound lighter than the Inspiron (it's supposed to be competitive with the XPS 13 after all), but unless I could be sure that Asus finally fixed the hinge issue, I'd rather have an Inspiron.

They nailed the design with the ux31 then went backwards to this. Makes no sense to me.
