Beside being Pass-Through, is ZyXEL any better than this? http://flash.newegg.com/Product/N82E16833704305

they might have similar or identical internals. I can vouch for the zyxel as I've used powerline from them for a few years now, always upgrading with the speeds, currently on the av2000 (1800Mbps). The great thing about the new ones is the second gigabit Ethernet port, which can be used to dual team a pc by connecting both to dual Ethernet ports on the pc, or to use one for a wireless router, the other for a device or gigabit switch feeding an entertainment center. I have never experienced any issues with speed when streaming games or video via these, from the av600 version, to this version, thru my current versions, I have both the pass thru and non-pass thru versions for a total of four, they also can mix and match speeds easily between models, just use the fastest one at the source. This is an excellent price, either brand would work, but I'm partial to Zyxel at this point due to their durability and consistent performance in my setup.

just checked again, and I have 6, and four of mine are 600 version (pass thru and non) and two are 1800 version (one at source, one at wireless router on other end of house), I might even have another pair in the closet somewhere. Again I recommend them for instances where wireless is difficult for whatever reason, or in conjunction with wireless. I sold these when I got the 1800 version bc the 600 work so well. these should serve your purpose and are a great price.

one tip: when initially pairing the two, plug the first one in and connect it to your internet source via cat6 or cat7 cable if you have one, then plug the second one in to an outlet that is physically close to the first adapter to initiate the encryption via the little bottom button, and there is distinct instructions on how long to hold the button down and such, then after pairing is complete, unplug the second one and take it to the final destination. repeat if you order more than two adapters.

I think I might also order another set or two now that I realized this is a newer version of the single port av1000 that I sold, second port is very versatile
