Just bought a "refurb" (loose F12 key) for 499. Great laptop. I don't love the plasticky feel & it scratches so pick up an Ipearl case for it. The specs are great. I was just emulating New Super Mario for Wii with ease. I have it triple booting Linux, Android x86 6.1 & Windows. Android is a pain in the butt to get going but so worth it once you realize how to expand the image into the system. Love this laptop. Love Dell for embracing Linux. Love Dell for actually putting out the best current hardware for cheap. Battery gets a solid 7.5 to 8.5 hours. not sure yet on Android.

One downside is it's single channel Ram. Not the biggest deal in the world for a non gaming laptop but still... I upgraded to 16GB & that sets you back 150.00. I threw in the 1TB drive from my XPS too.

Directions for enterprising folks who want android 6.1

go to distrowatch.
find x86 project
download 6.1 image
use Rufus to flash the image to usb
boot USB
(I like to set up a partition first in Linux or Windows)
Partition it in NTFS (Do not use fat or ext4)
choose grub
skip grub2
yes to write/read
put in megabytes the gigabytes you want to use (it wont just expand into the partition)
let it run forever.
restart.
go to bios UEFI
find the Android bootloader
YAY. if all went well you have a functional Android boot partition. You have to physically choose it if your lazy like me & don't edit grub.

If it doesn't work for you, sorry. it's a pain.

what's the latest laptop that i can still use my dell docking station. i think it's an eport, whatever the e6440 uses. Been trying to upgrade but it seems like only the older latitudes have this port. Thanks for the help!

Soo.... What are you going to use your laptop for? Do you travel or use your laptop without the power-cord for a long amount of time? Do you need extremely light weight? Are you going to be gaming on the to be new laptop? Does it have to be touch screen? What is your budget?

let me know and I will give your 2-3 recommendations.
