thanks, had a $5 reward certificate, finally found something to use it on. this beats the recent amazon deal, even with sales tax.

What's pretty mind blowing is Gamerankings has no reviews for the PS3 version of the set, so I Googled variations of "Lego Dimensions starter ps3 review* resolution frame*" and could not find a single review or page mentioning the differences between the PS3 and PS4 versions. In fact, for the PS3 all I found were non-console specific user reviews on Amazon and Best Buy.

The back of the PS3 package states 1080 resolution, so the most basic questions are: is there a noticeable difference in resolution, textures and frame rate in the PS3 vs. PS4 versions?

Of course it makes sense that on Prime Day 2 weeks ago, after waiting several months for a price under $50 I finally caved at Amazon for $49.99 and now I'm down $10 with this $39.99 price, and I haven't opened it yet. I'm thinking about returning it to Amazon though the return shipping will eat up probably $6-$7 of that $10. It's just amazing how once I finally cave in and buy, within 1 week it's $5 cheaper and 2 weeks it's $10 cheaper after months of the price never varying. You all have my purchase at Amazon to thank for these sales as I control all prices in the US economy with my purchases. Just kidding. laugh out loud

I don't know if there's a difference, but the $10 or whatever that you'll save is nothing in comparison to what you'll spend on the expansions... I love the game as does my wife... I think we spent like $30 on the ps4 version, but somewhere around $400+ on expansions... we have all of the ones that were released so far...LOVE the game though!

that's not a cheap enough price considering it's for 2 years and it used to be $99 for 2 years?

I haven't seen any deals to make the membership even cheaper.

How did you get the $30 deal on the PS4? Let me guess... $31.49 Target cartwheel on top of a price match - 5% RC discount back in March, right? That was a deal I totally missed and didn't find out about until recently.

While I'm asking, where did you get all the fun packs and how much did you pay on most of them? I know Target had a good cartwheel on them many months ago, but I think they still worked out to $6 or so unless there were price matches to be had at the same time. It's getting harder and harder to price match and use cartwheel since more employees are inspecting your cartwheel before processing it if you do any price matches. I got some level packs for $15 and some team packs for $12 at MS store recently. I don't think I can bring myself to pay more than $6-something for a fun pack.

I paid regular on some...a lot I got 20 percent off for preorder on amazon, but had to do it with them via chat...I know amazon had some crazy deal in January where they ended up being like 2 bucks, but I didn't get it then....most I bought from amazon or bestbuy ...the fun packs were mostly 7.50, team between 12 and 15, and level 15 to 20...I've never heard of chima or ninjago, but bought so many I finished the set....the vehicles are meh to me...I like the hoverboard, ecto 1, and delorean ...if you don't buy everything you can still rent characters for in game coins for 30 Seconds to do tasks...every type of character opens an open world so if you buy let's say a simpsons fun pack for 7.50 you'll have access to springfield...i bought so much from amazon I asked them to 20 percent off stuff that was released a while ago...they said pick one item and they'll do the one so that's how I got the main pack for like 30...

Looks like all the older game stuff is dropping in price each week. Waiting for it to go down even more.Big Grin

I found having to constantly move the characters around on the pad to beat levels quite annoying, and sold of my set after 3 hours. It can be especially if your portal is not near your chair. To each his own though.

I'm seeing this for $40 not $32 and I have GCU? Does it not stack?

I'd like to add that Target is offering the same deal, without the benefits of Best Buy's GCU. They also do not have the Playstation 3 verison on offer that I could find.

They do however have quite a lot of better pricing for the packs at Target than Best Buy. I would have to think Best Buy should price match. If they do, or course GCU promotion would not be allowed on those price matched items.
