As far as a widescreen monitor it depends on what game you are playing. some games don't support the wider aspect ratio very well. As far as quality goes ips panels have a great color depth and wide viewing angles. The 5ms GTG would correlate to graphical blur or input lag. The lower it is the better it is but, if you don't play games with high speed movement and explosions you won't have a large noticeable difference.

TL;DR good buy at price if you hardcore game look for a TN panel.

It should also be noted that the 75 HZ refresh rate is not at full quality you have to scale it back for that rate.

Thanks op I finally pulled the trigger on a 2k ultrawide monitor. Just a heads up Best Buy has these on their eBay, but they're the "open box". just in case people have eBay bucks promotions or eBay bucks to spend like myself. If it wasn't for that I would've bought an open box directly from BB for $168.99

Need the 1440 version of this.

I have the 27" LG 1080p curved and I hate its pixel density for non gaming purposes. Coming from a 1900x1200 24", I can see the difference right away. It bothered me so much that I kept the 24" as a second monitor for non-gaming needs.

Looking for a new 1440 monitor at 27" or above now. Ideally ultrawide and curved.

IPS is nice on this one though. Plus I think the pixel density is a bit better.
You can get 2 and stack vertically (using VESA stand). That setup would be awesome and will be under $500.

Edit: Hrmm...Pixel density on this one is 96ppi vs 82 on my 27"...may get in on this.
Ah screw it, in for 1.
If I like it, I'll buy the second one later.

If you don't need it now, this will be $150 on black Friday, if you need it now it is still a good deal.

fyi, I bought this last time and it would not turn on correctly with two sources plugged in. I had to unplug one source to get it to turn on.
returned it for this glaring defect.
it could have been my unit specifically, but it seemed to be a design defect
