Thread Details

Received an email from Georgia Power regarding the "Georgia Power Marketplace".
They are offering "up to $100 off a smart thermostat". This includes Nest, Honeywell, and Ecobee smart wifi enabled thermostats, and some other energy-efficient devices.

The lowest price on SD for an Ecobee 3 seems to be the $179 lowes deal.

This $100 INSTANT REBATE takes the price down to $149. Shipping is free.

They DO perform a validation on your street address to verify you are a customer.

To clarify, it appears this is front-loading the GA Power $100 Rebate for programmable thermostats to the up-front equipment purchase, which is pretty cool and convenient.
However, if you paid anything less than retail on a new unit elsewhere, you could submit for the $100 rebate afterwards, and possibly spend less than this route. The last $179 deal doesn't seem to be active currently.

Just to clarify. The mail in rebate for a programmable thermostat OUTSIDE of the Georgia power marketplace will only credit you $50 PER thermostat. I checked with two employees. The mail in rebate is up to $100 ($50 per thermostat)

Mail in rebate takes 6-9 weeks....

(Georgia power marketplace allows you to get $100 rebate off of a single thermostat automatically.)

Thanks for your post.

After filling out the Rebate Form Application as a test, it appears that it WILL offer a $100 rebate for a single unit if you enter that the thermostat cost $200 or more.
It's a 50% rebate UP TO $100. I'd imagine a receipt must be submitted as well. If I enter $180 for the unit price, the rebate amount is calculated at $90.

So this might be a good secondary deal if you can't get the Lowes PM deal (which would be ~$179 - $90 rebate = $90 unit).
