i was wondering why you didnt post the review before i realized you meant it got an "A"
Not accurate. Great for metal surfaces (accurate) but for checking to see if someone has a fever, this is not accurate.
For food, especially meat, you should measure internal temperature, not external, for which there's different thermometers.

I bought this last time and I love it. I use it to judge when the pan/ grill is hot enough. also to check other Temps like how hot the walls in my house are. it's been very useful and worth this price.

The house inspector we used told us to ask the seller to service the HVAC units since the air vents were not as cold as they needed to be. He used a reader with two laser lights instead of just one, like this one has. Is there any difference? Can I buy this one to make sure the sellers did the HVAC repairs instead of having to look for a different reader?

Thanks

Infrared light is invisible to the human eye. Those laser points are just showing you what you're aiming at.

I was just wondering if the "cone of measurement" would be visualized better with two laser lights to aim at the intended area of measurement instead of just one.

Well, you'd have to find out if he was using a two-color pyrometer instead of just infrared. Two-color meters will give you a much more accurate temperature gauge, but you're going to pay over $100 for one.

Chances are, he just had two laser pointers in his... But who knows?

Ask for a copy of their bill from the HVAC company.

Yes. This will work. Too many factors to get into, but to simplify it:

1) Scan the return vent.

2) In same room, scan a supply vent.

3) The temperature difference (Delta T) should be within 15-20 degrees Fahrenheit.

So, if the room is 75 and the air from a supply is 55-60*F, you should be good.

Less than 14*F could indicate a problem such as low refrigerant, dirty evap coil, clogged air filter or duct work in need of insulation or leaking air.

This isn't the most accurate way and tool to check, but it's close enough. If you measure ~10*F difference, then there is definitely a problem.
