That's why it is coming cheaper. The only difference is the newer model which comes with i5-6200U, is almost $120 pricier than this. Now CPU performance wise, the difference is almost negligible in real world. The only difference is in the integrated GPU performance where HD 520 is around 15% stronger than HD 5500. But neither of them can play any games with good settings and this Laptop is never meant for GPU intensive tasks.
For the other purpose like 4K streaming, both will do well.

9343, not 9350. No thunderbolt 3/type c. Been this price before, but an ok deal for today.

I bought this a couple weeks ago for $620. Most specs are the same, but mine has a better processor and more ports; the only downside I see is the screens cant even compare. Is that really the only reason this one is going for $200 more?

Yep not the newest model and they are obviously trying to hide that fact. Super shady.

I guess if you don't mind a 1.5-2 year old laptop for $800 with okay but not great specs that isn't the latest model, there are worse deals to be had.

That is an Inspiration model, always cheaper than XPS in any time. The model you have purchased has same configuration as the latest XPS 13 which sells at $900. So does it mean that the new XPS at $900 is also bad deal. There are something else when you buy a Business and professional Laptop apart from internal hardware configuration.

This. I have the 9550 and it's by far the best laptop I've ever had including recent apple products from a user experience standpoint. Trackpad, screen, lack of bezel are all near or at the best of any laptop out there imo.

On a different note, BEWARE if you have to talk to Dell support after the sale, especially when you buy from a third party reseller on ebay like this. There is lots of weird red tape and it's easy to get frustrated very quickly dealing with them. I really like dell hardware of certain models (like the XPS laptops) and am willing to risk having to deal with Dell support almost as a calculated risk.

I think they also fixed some touchpad issues moving from 9343 to 9350.

1080p on a 13.3" screen is all you need or else you will have HORRIBLE scaling issues and diffuclty seeing anything.

What I really want for christmas is a good deal on an L322X XPS13 .

Your Inspiron 13 is very different than this XPS. Your inspiron is much bulkier than the XPS 13. The XPS 13 is the size of an 11" laptop with a 13.3 inch screen. This is because the bezel for the screen is very thin. The laptop itself is also very thin. Smaller= less ports, but much more expensive. This is a true ultrabook. Your Inspiron is not quite an ultrabook.

Super shady? What are you babbling about. The model number is posted in several different places and right at the top of the description in big blue letters it states "Intel Core i5-5200U" so obviously this previous gen model. Adorama is also a well known, very reputable online retailer. What exactly is misleading about any of this?

It's misleading for anyone not technically inclined because it doesn't say the MODEL NUMBER anywhere. If you do a search for 9343 (the MODEL NUMBER of this laptop) on that ebay listing, nowhere is it mentioned in the entire description. This seems shady and misleading. Not sure why this is so difficult to comprehend.

Look at the screenshots. The model number is listed to two different places. Yes, they call it a part number rather than a model number, but so what. That's still easy to understand and not misrepresenting the item at all.
