This is in the weekly ad, but I did not see this posted:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/epson...Id=4336102

$200 gift card should be added to the cart automatically. Seemed like a pretty good deal to me if you shop at Best Buy anyway.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Price on the website has gone up to $849.99 but the weekly ad [bestbuy.com] still lists the price as $649.99.
YMMV for getting the deal at store locations.

I see a lot of posts with misinformation or say stretch of imagination of what projectors can and cannot do.

If you want a good projector with $79 original bulb replacement bulb please pull the trigger now.

Now coming to 4k. New Epson 5040UB uses pixel mapping for 4k so its not like native or full 4k. Also true 4k projectors IMHO follow law of diminishing returns unless you have lot of money to splurge on latest tech things.

DLP vs 3LCD - If you have darker room and respect deeper blacks, by all means go with DLP. If you have a room with ambient light you definitely need Epson 3LCD which this deal is all about. DLP Rainbow effect though some projectors have it, not everyone sees or suffers from that. It's now a moot point, but some hate it. Movie theaters use DLP though brighter and high end ones.

Also this projector has low input lag which is amazing with gamers. It had Intel WiDi as well if that's your thing. Overall it's a great package for $450.

Only 2 major gripes are negative throw offset and no lens shift. Also zoom is digital and not optical. But all of this too much to expect at this price. Black levels are livable and not horrible.

This is a solid projector for the price. People on the fence should buy now and think later. You will be blown away as long as its setup correctly and can live with small limitations.
don't do it. i constantly find myself buying two of the same thing when i see a good deal because i think i will use it as a back up and i always end up selling it.

buy to upgrade and sell the ViewSonic or pass...trust me.
If anyone is on the fence with getting a projector just think of the screen size Smilie you can even go to avsforum and see the custom projector screen paint forum which is filled with some highly reflective diy recipes.

You basically go to the sewing store and buy white blackout cloth (thickly knit so light doesn't pass through) cheap (can easily get a 120" screen worth of cloth for cheap), and then head to the hardware store with recipe ingredient list if you want to boost the luminance of the projected screen even more.

Blackout cloth is plenty good enough by default for eco mode at night or at dayin a room with good light control/curtains (more blackout cloth?), but if you read the forums and see the example you can basically replace the tv in a moderately lit room. But don't trust my word, go look at the many photos people post of the diy mixes which are constantly evolving closer to perfection.

I so wish I could do that "think later" part, but too late for me...I'm pretty happy with my Viewsonic, and I have no real use for a second projector.

I still want it though!

Don't forget Amex $25 off $250 offer. Split tender into 2 cards (in store only) for $50 off making it $400 which is a steal for this projector. You can order instore for shipping to home.

Ha, I was just joking, I talked myself out of it. Broke that habit a while ago...it got way too expensive because I'm terrible about actually selling things.

I really am happy with my Viewsonic PJD7820HD, looks great to me, and just ordered a bunch more $5 3D movies from the Family Video deal.
