Just bought this laptop for a friend in store. Overall this laptop is a great balance of performance and form factor. Especially for $750. The 15.6 inch screen is great to have in the smaller chassis.

One thing to look out for is the right shift key. The up arrow is in front of it, making it difficult to get used to if you use the right shift key often while typing.

While I am looking for the 14 yoga 710, I have also checked it at the store as well. It looks good balance between portable and screen size. I hope that the Best buy also carries 14 in one with a dedicated graphic card. Debating....

I can't believe this is becoming a thing. Ridiculous.

I just don't understand why Lenovo makes such horrible keyboards for the Yoga series when they are known to make wonderful keyboards for the Thinkpads. And those button-less mousepads are just horrible.

Any way to get the EDU coupon if you are not even a student? Of course, my daughter is...3rd grade though.

there is no need for you to be a student to get the edu coupon - at least not this time...you just have to sign up to get emails that is the only requirement.
More info in this thread:

BTW the above thread has the i5 flex for 550.

I typed out a long comment but mobile sucks. I would buy this (and just did).

I was in BB just now comparing this to dell inspiron and HP Envy all with i7. this one ended up on top for me for several reasons.

Picked up one. I was looking for an i7 with dedicated graphics, SSD & >8GB RAM. On top of them, I was very specific about the screen specs [atleast 300 nits, >90% RGB coveage & >60% Adobe Color coverage], weight [<4.5 pounds] and Price<750$. This was the only system that satisfied all my criteria. Of course, there is only one issue with the system which is the Rgiht Shift key placement but I can live with it. Screen is bright and beautiful. Reinsalled the OS and the drivers..Everything is perfect.

The price spiked to 1100$ couple days back. But fortunately Bestbuy brought a better deal today.

How 's the experience so far? I'm looking for a laptop with the same specs you were after as well (I would rather prefer a 14" though...)

Believe me.. I am very picky when it comes to screen as I use a mackbook pro with retina. This has the best screen from all the windows laptops I have seen in this price range. I got Yoga 710(14", i5 version) in the last month deal for 549$+tax (returned it (dumb mistake !!! should have kept it) and exchanged to Dell inspiron both 13 & 15 in the 499$ deal which I returned as the screen was very bad) Competitions in this price range falls when it comes to screen.

One con I might think of , this machine only has the micro-hdmi not the regular hdmi. Right shift key is annoying but I hope I will get used to it.

Am planning to take 3 year warranty cover for 109$ and I have time to decide on this. Current warranty expires after 400 days as the MFg date of my system is 07/26/2016.
