Is usb c going to stick around? I don't have anything with it and hate to add another cable to my collection...

If it wasn't usb c input, I'd probably buy it...

cool. My new MSI laptop has a "super port" which is also USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt so I can utilize that for something.

USB-C is the future. Nearly every new non-Apple phone is moving to it, and most new laptops have it. In time it will replace all USB ports.
